Diagram Editor
The Class and Sequence Diagram Editors share the following features.
Go To Diagram
You may quickly open a diagram by specifying its name:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + G or select
menu item.
Start entering the diagram name in the dialog that appears.
- Select the desired diagram from the lookup list and press Enter
to open it or Esc to cancel.
Select In Target
You may select the focused element in a Diagram (or the Diagram as a whole) in one of the available views
(namely Project, Package, Commander and Model Explorer).
- Open a Diagram and select the desired element.
- Press Alt + F1 or select
menu item.
Select the desired target.
Show/Hide Grid
To show or hide the grid lines painted at the background of diagrams:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke (or Show if hidden).
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
(or Show if hidden) from the pop up menu.
Hand Tool
With the Hand Tool you may scroll a diagram by dragging the mouse:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Select the Hand Tool
on the tool bar.
- Press the mouse on the diagram and drag in the desired direction.
Note this works if the diagram is bigger than the editor.
Zoom
The Zoom feature allows to scale a diagram to some specified zoom factor
(from 8% to 800%).
Predefined Zoom Factors
Predefined zoom factors are available from ,
the diagram contextual pop up menu and the diagram tool bar.
To select a predefined zoom factor:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke

or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu, or
- click on the zoom list combo box arrow button.

In this last case, it is also possible to specify a new zoom factor by typing
the new value in the list box editor.
- Choose one the predefined zoom factors.
Zoom In
To scale up the diagram to the next zoom level:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke .
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu.
or
- click on the Zoom In button
in the tool bar.
Zoom Out
To scale down the diagram to the next zoom level:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke .
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu.
or
- click on the Zoom In button
in the tool bar.
Actual Size
The Actual Size action will change back the zoom factor to 100%:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke .
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu.
or
- click on the Actual Size button
in the tool bar.
Fit Diagram
The Fit Diagram action will scale the diagram so is always completely visible in
the available editor area. This action may be toggled on and off:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke .
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu.
or
- click on the Fit Diagram button
in the tool bar.
Fit Width
The Fit Width action will scale the diagram so its width is always visible in
the available editor area. This action may be toggled on and off:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke .
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu.
or
- click on the Fit Width button
in the tool bar.
Fit Height
The Fit Height action will scale the diagram so its height is always visible in
the available editor area. This action may be toggled on and off:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Either:
- invoke .
or
- right-click on the diagram and invoke
from the pop up menu.
or
- click on the Fit Height button
in the tool bar.
Zoom In Tool
Use this tool to zoom in the diagram with the mouse:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Select the Zoom In Tool
from the tool bar.
- Every time you click in the diagram it will zoom in.
Zoom Out Tool
Use this tool to zoom out the diagram with the mouse:
- Open a diagram in the editor.
- Select the Zoom Out Tool
from the tool bar.
- Every time you click in the diagram it will zoom out.
